The Bishop has requested that the Brentwood Diocese should appoint a co-ordinator ahead of the Papal Visit in September. The purpose of the role is to deal with the organisation relating to participation by people from Brentwood Diocese to the events in Hyde Park and Birmingham. The Brentwood Diocesan Co-ordinator will be John L’Estrange and he has written to each Parish in the Diocese to request that each Parish also appoint a Papal Visit Co-ordinator. As you know I will be away on holiday for part of July and August when most of the arrangements will be made, so I have asked Ian Restall to be our Parish Co-ordinator. He will liaise on our behalf with John L'Estrange and will also be able to answer any questions you may have about the Visit. As normal, we will be suspending publication of the weekly newsletter while I am away, but if need be, Ian will issue a shortened version to update us on Papal Visit news.
